The bed linen is designed by four artists.
The first bed linen sets for the sleeper were made by Snowman. The first was the Full Moon set, and the next bedding sets were called Greenery, Black Cats and Berries and Mice. Snowman’s quirky and fun style charmed shoppers at first sight.
Irina Ylänne from Finland was the next to join the small team of Dreamers. She really liked the idea that children’s and parents’ bed linen should match in both colour and design. Irina’s first design for us was by the river. This was followed by bedding sets such as Swans, Enchanted Forest, Enchanted Garden and Thunders. The bed linen she makes is wonderful!
In Denmark we found designer Kristel Lauritsa, who is from Estonia but has been living in Copenhagen for quite a long time. Kristel is a graduate of the Higher School of Design in Denmark and now works in a design studio in Copenhagen. She loves to play with shapes as well as colours, and for Uneleja she has created very playful bedding sets like Mice on an Ice-cream Hunt and Balls of Joy.
Our fourth artist is also from Denmark – Nanna Gomaa. Nanna has designed for us the fabric for the bedding sets Flower Dream and Cornflowers. These sets have a delicate floral pattern all over the fabric and when describing them I would love to use the term ‘vintage’.
Most of our bed linen sets are made of cotton sateen.
What are the characteristics of a quality saddle?
Reflection: the high quality saddle cloth is made from a fine cotton fibre, which gives it a soft and silky feel. Satin weave: the satin is woven in a satin weave which gives it a shiny and smooth surface. Durability: high quality cotton sateen is usually durable for years, which ensures its long-lasting use. Breathability: cotton is breathable, which also gives the satin excellent breathability, allowing air to circulate freely and cool the body naturally. Moisture absorbency: a good cotton sateen can absorb moisture well, keeping the body dry and comfortable. Colour fastness: a good quality down will not lose colour quickly through washing or sun exposure.

What’s it like to sleep in a bed like this? For many people, sleeping in cotton jersey bed linen is very comfortable and pleasant. Cotton tricot is soft, breathable and easy to care for, and it feels good. This fabric has the characteristic of being slightly elastic, which allows the bed linen to follow the body and move comfortably.

Most of the Uneleja bed linen sets are OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Group 1 certified.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is an international certification system that sets safety and quality requirements for textile products. Achieving certification means that a product meets a rigorous standard that covers a range of criteria, including the content of chemicals, the safety of textile dyes, skin-friendliness and much more.
“Group 1” means that the certificate is issued for products intended for use by infants and young children.
