Berries bedding set – set includes a 100% cotton satin duvet cover and pillowcase. The duvet cover measures 150 x 200 cm, the pillowcase 50 cm x 70 cm. The fabric of the set is designed in Estonia by Lumimari. The images are digitally printed on a nice soft skin-friendly fabric.

On both sides of the blanket bag is a picture of northern-looking berry bushes on a soft grey background.

You can wash the duvet cover and pillowcase in 60-degree water or tumble dry. The product may shrink by up to 3% in the first wash. To compensate for this, a margin has been built into the product.

Why does cotton satin shrink in the first wash?

Cotton satin may shrink in the first wash, especially if it has not been pre-shrunk. Shrinkage may be due to the natural shrinkage of the fabric fibres or to the temperature and washing method used during the wash.

It is recommended that you follow the manufacturer’s care instructions and, if possible, wash new cotton satin fabric separately and in cold water to reduce the risk of shrinkage. In addition, washing may soften the fabric and give it the desired texture.

Do cotton satin bed linen sets need to be machine washed or hand washed?

Cotton satin bed linen sets can usually be machine washed. However, there are a few important aspects to consider:

Temperature: check the manufacturer’s instructions for the recommended washing temperature. Usually, it is recommended to use lukewarm or warm water to avoid shrinkage or fading of the product.
Washing programme: use a delicate wash or delicate fabric wash programme to avoid damaging the fabric fibres. Avoid spin drying or using the tumble dryer at high temperatures – these activities can cause wrinkles and ironing will be difficult afterwards.
Detergents: prefer detergents or special detergents designed for sensitive fabrics. Avoid bleaching agents or fabric softeners as they may damage the fabric or fade colours.

If you are particularly careful, you may want to consider hand-washing. Hand-washing allows you to check the fabric more closely and avoid potential damage.
