White tea flowers are made up of tea from the high mountainous regions of Fujian Province, China. White tea is a delicate, minimally processed tea from the Camellia sinensis plant, using young flowers and leaves hand-picked in early spring and dried quickly to prevent oxidation. The result is subtle flavours (floral, fruity) and high antioxidant content. White tea is plucked only a few days a year, at the beginning of the season. This tea is not fermented.
To obtain the tea flower, white tea is blended with various flower essences that add flavour and aroma. Finally, the tea and flowers are formed into a ball, which only opens into a ‘flower’ in boiling water.
You can see a video on how to make the tea HERE.
