A dream on the wall — protection in the night

The dream catcher carries an ancient story. The Ojibwe people of North America gave rise to a tradition now recognised across the world. According to legend, the Spider Woman — Asibikaashi — watched over every child’s sleep. As the Ojibwe nation spread across the land, mothers, sisters, and grandmothers began weaving magical webs above infants’ cradles: willow hoops threaded with plant-fibre nets designed to catch every bad dream. Good dreams slipped through the small opening at the centre; bad dreams were snared and dissolved with the first light of morning.

In traditional dream catchers, every detail carried meaning: seven points on the web represented the Seven Prophecies, eight represented Spider Woman’s eight legs. Feathers symbolised breath and air, carrying good dreams gently downward to the sleeper.

What this means today

Dream catcher with fairy is handmade throughout: the hoop is shaped and crocheted by hand, the fairy is felted from wool, the feathers are natural. It brings beauty, meaning, and magic into a room — and is packaged in a gift box, ready to give immediately.

Two variations — two feelings

The sunny yellow variation is alive, warm, and joyful. A pale yellow crocheted web, yellow, white, and peacock feathers create something regal. Yellow is the colour of light and wisdom.

The soft blue variation is light, dreamy, and calming. A white lace hoop with blue and white feather clusters creates the feeling of a sky full of clouds — safe, airy, and still.

Both work beautifully in a child’s room, a teenager’s space, or an adult’s bedroom. Browse Uneleja gifts for children and the full gift selection. Free shipping within Estonia from €95; free shipping outside Estonia from €195.
